Activists from the rights NGO Amnesty International unfurl a banner reading “SHAME” outside the European Commission in Brussels to protest the visit of a Taliban government delegation to the Belgian capital for discussions with the EU about the possible return of Afghan migrants to their country of origin.
A spokesperson for Amnesty International has condemned this as “a slap in the face for the values supposedly upheld by the European Union and Belgium, which claim to defend international law”.
