JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia’s Cabinet on Tuesday strongly condemned repeated Iranian attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, as well as on Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Jordan.

The Cabinet affirmed its complete rejection of Iran’s continued destabilising behaviour in the region, accusing Tehran of violating international law, the charters of the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), as well as the principles of good neighbourliness.

Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, chaired the Cabinet session held in Jeddah, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

They reaffirmed their support for efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability across the region.

The Crown Prince also updated the Cabinet on his talks with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, highlighting the shared commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation across a wide range of sectors.

The discussions underscored the close friendship and mutual trust between the two countries, while advancing the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and Canada’s economic growth agenda to build stronger and more resilient economies.

The Cabinet welcomed the signing of several memoranda of understanding during Carney’s official visit, including agreements to establish the Saudi-Canadian Coordination Council and expand cooperation in energy, artificial intelligence investment, and skills development.
