SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Three young girls were killed and four other people were injured after Khwarij carried out a quadcopter attack on a residential house in South Waziristan, security sources said.
According to details, the attack took place in Upper Nargisai, Sui Khela, in the Azam Warsak area of South Waziristan. The targeted house belonged to Muhammad Gul, also known as Bagal, who is associated with the Dinwar sub-branch of the Wazir tribe.
The deceased girls were identified as Meenaka Bibi, 15, Gul Nazah Bibi, 9, and Bashrobana, 6. The injured were identified as Muzla Bibi, Khatir, 13, Naqeeb, 4, and Gul Zadin, 22.
Security sources said the attack reflected the anti-people and anti-peace agenda of Khwarij, who have repeatedly targeted civilians, women, children, tribal elders, mosques and public places to spread fear and instability.
They said the use of a quadcopter against a civilian home showed that the group had no regard for innocent lives and was willing to target children to advance its violent objectives.
Officials said Khwarij were using modern terrorist tactics, including drone-based attacks, to terrorise local communities, destroy families and impose fear through bloodshed and coercion.
The statement said that such elements were acting as proxies for external handlers based in India and Afghanistan, who seek to destabilise Pakistan and undermine peace in the region.
Security sources said such cowardly attacks could not weaken the state’s resolve. Instead, they said, these attacks would strengthen national unity and reinforce the public commitment to eliminate terrorism.
They added that all terrorists, facilitators and supporters involved in the attack would be identified and brought to justice under the law.
