“Pakistan stands for peace, but it will never compromise on its dignity, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political independence,” he said.
The deputy prime minister paid tribute to Pakistan’s armed forces and citizens, saying the country’s unity had become its greatest strength during a difficult period marked by regional tensions and conflict.

Referring to last year’s war with India, Dar said Pakistan, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, acted with “calm resolve and moral clarity,” while its response remained “measured, responsible, and precise.”

He said Operation Bunyan-ul-Marsoos demonstrated Pakistan’s right to self-defence under international law and praised the leadership of Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu and Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf.
Dar highlighted what he described as successful military operations, including the downing of Indian fighter jets and maintaining maritime readiness during heightened tensions.
The foreign minister also emphasised Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement during the crisis, saying the Foreign Office actively presented Pakistan’s position at bilateral and global forums to reinforce international understanding of the country’s “lawful and restrained response.”
He reiterated Pakistan’s support for dialogue and regional peace while stressing that unresolved issues remained central to lasting peace in South Asia.
“The anniversary of Marka-e-Haq is not only about remembering the past; it is about shaping the future,” Dar said.
