LONDON: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has revealed plans to construct new cricket stadiums in Islamabad and Muzaffarabad.
The announcement comes as part of the PCB’s strategy to expand the sport’s footprint across the country.
Naqvi also stated that weekly musical concerts would be held during the upcoming PSL season 11 to increase fan engagement, creating an immersive experience for spectators.
Naqvi’s comments were made at the landmark PSL roadshow held at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London, marking the first time the league has presented its global showcase at the iconic venue.
The event, ahead of the 11th edition of the PSL, brought together cricket officials, star players, former international greats, commercial partners, and global investors.
It was a key moment in the PSL’s bid to cement its position as one of the premier T20 leagues in the world.

Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK, Dr. Mohammad Faisal, hailed the event as a “historic achievement,” emphasizing that such initiatives not only bolster Pakistan’s sports diplomacy but also broaden the global appeal of its cricket.
PSL Chief Executive Salman Naseer also reflected on the success of the roadshow, noting that it marked a significant milestone in the league’s growing international presence.
He confirmed that the bidding process for two new franchise teams is still open, reiterating the PSL’s commitment to expanding opportunities for both cricketers and fans.
Naqvi highlighted that the ambition to make PSL the world’s top T20 competition is supported by the exceptional talent of Pakistan’s national players, and the league continues to provide young cricketers with a platform to refine their skills.
In addition to the new stadiums, Naqvi confirmed plans for another international roadshow in New York and an upcoming OTT platform dedicated to streaming PSL content globally.
He assured that all bids for new PSL investments would remain transparent and fully open, reinforcing that investors have consistently reaped benefits from their association with the league.
