Pakistan, Australia Agree to Jointly Curb Human-Trafficking

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Australia have agreed to strengthen cooperation to fight the menace of human trafficking.

The consensus was reached during a meeting between Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi and Australian High Commissioner Neil Hawkins in Islamabad on Thursday.

The Interior Minister added a team deployed to fight human trafficking is working day and night to stop human smuggling to Australia and other nations.

He said efforts are being made to boost the capacity of the Federal Investigation Agency in this regard.

Australian High Commissioner Neil Hawkins offered Pakistan to benefit from Australia’s modern border management equipment and techniques.

Both sides also agreed to hold the meeting of the Joint Working Group in Australia in December.
