ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Friday said that 22 Iranian crew members of a vessel Lenore/Davina captured by the US have arrived in Karachi.
“Arrangements are now being finalised in close collaboration with the Iranian Missions in Pakistan to facilitate their earliest and safe return to their homeland,” he said in a post on X.
“We remained in close contact with the US and Iranian authorities throughout this process,” he added.
Dar said this is the fourth group of Iranian crew members to have their repatriation facilitated by Pakistan over the past two months.

More than 70 Iranians repatriated through Pakistan
He noted that to date, Pakistan has assisted in the return of more than 70 Iranian nationals, including the latest group of 22 individuals, through its territory.
“I am grateful to the Iranian leadership for the trust they have reposed in Pakistan,” Ishaq Dar said.
He also commended the dedicated efforts of the team at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and all the Pakistani Institutions for their professionalism and commitment to ensure the smooth and safe repatriation of our Iranian brothers to their homeland.
The repatriation operation comes as Pakistan-mediated talks between the US and Iran in Switzerland, aimed at reaching a lasting agreement after the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding this month.
The countries later agreed on a 60-day roadmap towards a final agreement following the conclusion of high-level talks in Switzerland mediated by Pakistan and Qatar.
