SRINAGAR: The jailed leadership of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has extended warm wishes to the people and the government of Pakistan on the eve of the 78th Independence Day.
APHC Chairman Massarat Aalam Butt, in a message from Tihar Jail in New Delhi, expressed gratitude to Pakistan for its continued moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmir cause.
Senior APHC leaders Shabbir Ahmad Shah and Nayeem Ahmad Khan termed the Kashmir dispute an unfinished agenda of the partition of the Indian subcontinent, stressing that the dream of a vibrant, prosperous and stable Pakistan would remain elusive unless Kashmir is from Indian rule and made part of the country.
Spokesman APHC advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas called upon the urged people to observe India’s Independence Day on August 15 as Black Day, adding that New Delhi has no moral right to celebrate the day as it has held the occupied the land of Kashmir illegally for over seven decades.
Pro-Pakistan posters and banners have appeared all over the Kashmir Valley, despite heavy deployment of Indian troops.
Meanwhile, India has enhanced restrictions in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) ahead of its Independence Day celebrations.
