ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to visit China from May 23 to May 25 for high-level meetings aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and expanding economic and strategic cooperation between the two countries.
During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will hold talks with Xi Jinping and Li Qiang. The discussions are expected to cover regional connectivity, economic collaboration, and matters of mutual interest.
Officials said the Pakistani premier will also participate in ceremonies commemorating 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, reflecting the long-standing friendship and strategic partnership shared by the two nations.
Key discussions during the visit will focus on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and ongoing development projects. Trade, investment, energy, and infrastructure cooperation are also expected to feature prominently on the agenda.
Both sides are likely to exchange views on regional and international developments while exploring new avenues for cooperation in various sectors.
Officials indicated that several agreements and memorandums of understanding may be signed during the visit to boost economic cooperation and encourage greater Chinese investment in Pakistan’s key industries.
China remains one of Pakistan’s closest diplomatic and economic partners, with both countries continuing close collaboration on major infrastructure and development initiatives under CPEC.
