ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Ghana have agreed to enhance military-to-military relations, specifically focusing on joint training, counter-terrorism, and defence production, the military’s media wing said in a statement on Thursday.
The consensus was reached during a meeting between Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of the Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Chief of Defence Staff of the Republic of Ghana Lieutenant General William Agyapong at General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi, the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said in a statement on Thursday.
During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security, and bilateral defence cooperation were discussed.
Both sides expressed a resolve to enhance military-to-military relations, specifically focusing on joint training, counter-terrorism, and defence production, ISPR said.
The visiting dignitary commended the Pakistan Armed Forces for their professionalism and role in regional stability.
According to ISPR, the visiting dignitary was presented a Guard of Honour by a smartly turned-out Tri-Services contingent upon his arrival at GHQ

Later, Abdul Razak Osman, National Security Coordinator of Ghana called on Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu at Air Headquarters and Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, at Naval Headquarters.
Lieutenant General Wiliam Agyapong, Chief of Defence Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces was also in presence.
