Kashmiri Leadership Pays Rich Tributes to Martyrs of July 13, 1931

ISLAMABAD: The Jammu and Kashmir Awami Action Committee and other Hurriyat leaders and organizations on Thursday glowingrich tributes to the martyrs of 13 July 1931 on their martyrdom anniversary in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The AAC in a statement, recalled the sacrifices and paid richtributes to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the realization of the aspirations and rights of the people of IIOJK.

The AAC said that it was a day when the party and people of IIOJK by remembering and honoring the martyrs’ sacrifices, renew their commitment to the realization of their aspirations for peaceful means of the resolution of Kashmir problem.

It added that this year too, because of the arbitrary house detention of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq by the authorities in IIOJK since August 2019, it was impossible for him to lead the traditional march to the Martyrs’ Graveyard to pay tributes to martyrs.

Leaders demand for release of political prisoners

The AAC reiterated its demand for the release of all political prisoners, including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and those others who have been languishing in various jails for years in Kashmir and other prisons across India.

Mir Shahid Saleem, the senior APHC leader and Chairman of the United Peace Alliance Jammu, said in a statement that supreme sacrifices rendered by twenty-two Kashmiris against the Dogra Raj would always be written with the golden words.

He strongly criticised the occupation authorities for imposing bans in Srinagar to prevent people from paying tributes to the martyrs.

APHC leaders Sibt Shabbir Qummi and Khadim Hussain, in a joint statement payed tributes to the 13 July martyrs, saying these Kashmiris sacrificed their precious lives against Dogra rule and tyranny and made the Kashmiri people aware of rising up against the oppressors and tyrants of the time.
