MAKKAH: The Makkah Bus Guidance Centre for overseas pilgrims has commenced its Hajj operations, facilitating more than 250 daily trips from the city’s entry points to designated accommodations.
Leveraging advanced digital platforms, the centre offers real-time tracking and precise geographic mapping to ensure the smooth and timely arrival of pilgrims, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Friday.
Trained guides are equipped with smart tablets that connect directly to a central operations room, enhancing both safety and navigation accuracy throughout the journey.
Operating under the supervision of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the General Syndicate of Cars, the system is designed to minimise delays and improve the overall efficiency and quality of transportation services across Makkah.
This year’s Hajj is expected to take place between May 25 and May 30, subject to the sighting of the moon, which determines the start of the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah.
