First-ever Al Hamba Festival in Doha Celebrates Richness of Pakistani Mangoes

DOHA: The inaugural Al Hamba Festival in Doha, Qatar, is a vibrant celebration of Pakistani mangoes, featuring an extensive array of seasonal varieties and flavours. Held at Souq Waqif, the festival, which began on Thursday and runs until July 6, has attracted mango enthusiasts and food connoisseurs alike. Organized by the Embassy of Pakistan in Doha in collaboration with the Celebrations Organizing Committee of the Private Engineering Office (PEO), the event showcases over 43 companies and 100 outlets, offering a feast for residents of Qatar.

Muhammad Aejaz, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar, described the festival as not only an opportunity to enjoy the finest Pakistani mangoes but also as a platform for cultural exchange between the two nations through food. He emphasized its appeal to families and food enthusiasts, promising a rich tapestry of flavours and cultural experiences.

Beyond mangoes, the festival features other seasonal fruits such as falsa, jamun, and peaches, adding to the summer festivities. Pakistani cuisine takes center stage with traditional dishes and modern interpretations served by local restaurants and cafes, celebrating Pakistan’s culinary heritage.

The festival attracts a diverse range of exhibitors including importers, retailers, and exporters, showcasing products like processed foods and dry mangoes from Pakistani companies such as Zuhair Impex, Akin Foods, and Pak Khyber Traders. Major retail stores like Al Baladi Hypermarket and Marza Hypermarket are also participating.

Furthermore, Desert Green Qatar presents innovative agricultural practices, while Pakistani handicrafts courtesy of Swat International Trading Company add a cultural dimension to the event
