ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Health Ministry has imposed a ban on sugary drinks during its meetings in order to promote healthier beverage choices among officials and staff, local media reported.
According to the spokesperson of the health ministry, the decision stems from the recognition of the harmful and negative effects of sweet drinks on health.
In alignment with the new directives, all institutions under the Health Ministry are now prohibited from taking sugary drinks during the meetings.
Pakistan’s Caretaker Health Minister Dr. Nadeem Jan has also issued an advisory over the matter. Furthermore, the ministry has also mandated that sugary drinks and sweet products would not be included during official meetings, highlighting its dedication to promote a healthier environment within its establishments.
This step may also encourage other government departments and institutions to adopt similar steps, contributing to a broader shift towards healthier beverage choices and overall wellness.
