ISLAMABAD: The Romanian embassy in Pakistan marked the 105th National Day of Romania in Islamabad, highlighting the robust and cordial relations between Pakistan and Romania. The event, hosted by the Romanian Embassy at a local hotel, gathered diplomats, charge de-affairs, and representatives from international organizations.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan for Overseas Pakistanis & Human Resource Development, Jawad Sohrab Malik, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He also participated in the ceremonial cake-cutting.
Speaking on the occasion, Romanian Ambassador to Pakistan, Eduard-Robert PREDA expressed satisfaction with the existing strong ties between Pakistan and Romania, encompassing trade, investments, technology, and various other areas of collaboration. He emphasized the significant growth in economic and trade volumes between the two nations and underscored the potential for further expansion in diverse fields.
Cordial Relations Between Pakistan and Romania
The Ambassador affirmed Romania’s readiness to deepen relations with Pakistan across various sectors. He expressed eagerness to leverage the benefits of the strong ties with Pakistan. He particularly mentioned the potential for collaboration in the agriculture sector.
The National Day of Romania holds special significance, commemorating the power of December 1st, 1918, a pivotal moment in Romanian history that symbolizes national accomplishments and unity. The occasion serves as an opportunity to reaffirm Romania’s vision, fundamental objectives, and commitment to international values.
Ambassador Eduard-Robert PREDA acknowledged the positive population dynamics and the important partnership Romania shares with Pakistan in Southeast Asia. He commended Pakistan’s efforts in combating terrorism, militancy, and radical extremism.
Highlighting the eagerness to work towards advancing the bilateral agenda, the Ambassador emphasized the cooperation within the EU-Pakistan framework and various multilateral formats, particularly within the United Nations. He noted the recent dynamism and collaboration witnessed in recent years, positioning both countries for a pragmatic relationship based on mutual interest.
