At least four people have been killed after they were kidnapped in Wana, South Waziristan.
Police and Levies said that three traders and a policeman were among the dead who had been kidnapped earlier.
Traders’ leaders Riaz Khan, who was assassinated two days ago after being abducted from Wana’s Rustom Adda, was found dead. Another trader, identified as Hafizullah, who was abducted, was found dead.
Saddam Wazir, a police officer, and another person’s bullet-riddled body were discovered in the Wana tehsil of Barmal.
Several police officers have lost their lives in earlier assaults on law enforcement agencies.
On Friday, armed assailants opened fired on the Azam Warsak police station in South Waziristan.
Media reports indicated that militants and insurgents were reorganizing in former Federally Administered Tribal Areas and in a few districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
These speculations were further augmented by a recent attack on a school van in Swat by unknown assailants, which left the driver dead and two students injured.
