KATHMANDU, Nepal: A Saudi relief plane operated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has arrived in Nepal carrying a range of humanitarian supplies.
The aid was dispatched upon the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.

A specialised team from KSrelief will coordinate with relevant local authorities to distribute the aid among people affected by the recent floods in Nepal, which caused significant loss of life and property damage.

Kingdom’s commitment
Saudi Ambassador to Nepal Fahd bin Mnikhr said the assistance reflects the Kingdom’s commitment, under the directives of its leadership, to supporting friendly countries and helping ease the humanitarian impact of natural disasters.
He added that the initiative demonstrates Saudi Arabia’s role in strengthening international humanitarian efforts.

The assistance forms part of Saudi Arabia’s broader relief efforts through KSrelief to support people in need and provide humanitarian assistance to brotherly and friendly nations during crises and emergencies.
The devastating floods that struck Nepal on August 26 have killed at least 1,455 people, while 5,285 others remain missing, according to the latest official figures. The disaster caused widespread damage to homes, roads and bridges, leaving thousands of people in need of humanitarian assistance.
