RIYADH: Saudi Arabia hosted a high-level ministerial consultative meeting on Wednesday evening, bringing together foreign ministers and senior representatives from across the Middle East and neighboring regions to address growing concerns over recent Iranian military actions, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.
The meeting, led by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, included participation from Azerbaijan, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Pakistan, Türkiye, Syria, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, and Egypt.
The gathering underscored a unified regional stance in response to what participants described as escalating Iranian aggression.
During the session, the ministers strongly condemned Iran’s recent missile and drone strikes, labeling them as clear violations of national sovereignty and international law.
The participants collectively held Iran accountable for the resulting damages and losses, urging Tehran to immediately halt its aggressive actions without conditions.
The ministers further emphasized the importance of adhering to international obligations, calling on Iran to comply with relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.
Concerns were also raised over Iran’s alleged support for armed militias, which participants said continues to destabilize the region and undermine peace efforts.
In a joint position, the attendees warned that continued disregard for the principles of good neighborliness and respect for sovereignty could lead to serious repercussions.
They stressed that such actions not only threaten regional security but could also strain Iran’s relations with neighboring countries and their populations.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment among participating nations to strengthen coordination and cooperation in safeguarding regional stability and protecting shared interests against emerging threats.
