JEDDAH: Red Sea Labs, part of the Red Sea Film Foundation, continued the seventh edition of the Feature Films Program in the Korean capital, Seoul, in partnership with Film Independent.
The program brings together filmmakers from Saudi Arabia, the Arab world, Asia and Africa to support emerging talent and advance their film projects, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The Seoul stop featured a series of workshops and specialised sessions focused on film project development and knowledge-sharing with industry professionals.
The activities aimed to strengthen the creative and professional aspects of the participating projects and prepare them for production and marketing.
The program also included a discussion as part of the “Inspire” series, exploring how stories rooted in local environments and cultures can reach global audiences while preserving their authenticity and cultural identity.
The program’s seventh edition features 12 film projects, including three Saudi and nine international projects.
The projects undergo specialised development tracks covering screenwriting, directing and production, under the guidance of film industry experts and professionals.
The program aims to prepare projects for international film markets and connect their teams with producers, distributors and potential supporters.
The participating teams will continue their development journey in Los Angeles before presenting their projects at the Red Sea Souk during the next edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival.
