He also directed the relevant authorities to ensure that injured children received the best possible medical treatment.
Province-Wide Inspections
The governor ordered a comprehensive survey of school buildings across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to identify potential safety risks and ensure that corrective measures were taken promptly.
The inspections are intended to help authorities identify unsafe structures and address potential hazards before they lead to further tragedies.
“Children’s safety cannot be compromised,” the governor said, stressing that their lives and security must remain the highest priority.
Kundi also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and expressed sympathy with the families of those killed.
Rescue Operation
The school roof collapse in Dir Colony prompted a major rescue operation involving Rescue 1122, the Pakistan Army and other emergency services.

Rescue teams worked to recover people trapped beneath the rubble and transport the injured to hospitals, including Peshawar’s Lady Reading Hospital.
Officials said rain had weakened the three-storey school building. Police also said the building’s owner had been taken into custody.
The incident raised fresh concerns about the structural safety of educational buildings and the need for effective inspections and enforcement of construction standards.
Focus On School Safety
The governor’s directive comes amid renewed calls for stronger safety measures in schools following the deaths and injuries in Peshawar.
A province-wide assessment could help authorities identify buildings requiring urgent repairs or further structural examination.
The investigation into the collapse is expected to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and help determine what measures are needed to prevent similar accidents.
Officails said the immediate priorities remain rescue operations, medical care for the injured and support for the affected families, while authorities face pressure to ensure that school buildings across the province are safe for children and staff.
