Mohsin Naqvi touched down in Bangladesh on Friday to hold discussions with BCB officials during the ongoing Test series between the two countries. Upon his arrival, he was received by Bangladeshi government officials and BCB representatives.
Naqvi, who also serves as ACC President, met senior BCB officials, including the cricket board’s Ad Hoc Committee Chairman Tamim Iqbal, to discuss arrangements and affairs related to the upcoming Men’s Asia Cup, which Bangladesh is scheduled to host in 2027.
The PCB chairman later visited the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, where he watched the opening day of the first Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh alongside Humayun Kabir, the Bangladesh Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Advisor.

According to a PCB statement, discussions also focused on strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as promoting sports, particularly cricket.
Naqvi’s visit comes just one month after Bangladesh’s federal government appointed former national captain Tamim Iqbal as the new president of the BCB. The appointment followed the dissolution of the board of directors previously led by former chief Aminul Islam.
The BCB had faced mounting pressure from the sports ministry, which questioned the validity of the last board election, noted the national team’s absence from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, and raised allegations of political interference and favoritism within the board.
