ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Navy Ship Yarmook has conducted two successful counter-narcotics operations in the Arabian Sea, seizing narcotics worth approximately $96 million, the military’s media wing said in a statement on Wednesday.
During the operations, two dhows were intercepted, and approximately 850 kilograms of Ice and 2000 kilograms of Hashish/ Cannabis were recovered from concealed compartments inside the vessels, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

The seized narcotics were taken into custody and will subsequently be handed over to concerned authorities for further disposal and legal proceedings, it said.

Pakistan Navy vigilance
The successful operations demonstrate the Pakistan Navy’s continued vigilance and commitment to maritime security and combating illicit trafficking at sea.
It may be recalled that Pakistan Navy ships Hunain and Yarmook last month seized more than 2,800 kilograms of narcotics worth approximately $750 million during a joint counter-narcotics operation in the Arabian Sea.

The ships intercepted a suspicious boat while conducting a routine patrol and recovered the narcotics from concealed compartments during a boarding operation, according to the Pakistan Navy.
