Pakistan Deputy PM Stresses Dialogue, Diplomacy to Ease Middle East Tensions

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has stressed the need for dialogue and diplomacy to ease tensions in the Middle East, while discussing regional developments with British High Commissioner Jane Marriott.

According to the Foreign Office. the two sides also reviewed the positive momentum in Pakistan-UK bilateral relations and discussed upcoming engagements aimed at further strengthening cooperation.

Dar calls for de-escalation

According to the Foreign Office, Marriott called on Dar on Saturday, with the meeting focusing on bilateral relations and the evolving regional situation.

“The DPM/FM underscored the importance of efforts to ease tensions and reaffirmed that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable way forward,” the Foreign Office said in a post on X.

Both sides welcomed the positive momentum in bilateral ties and discussed upcoming engagements to carry the cooperation forward, the Foreign Office spokesperson said in a press release.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on developments in the Middle East, with Dar reiterating Pakistan’s emphasis on diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions.
