MAKKAH: The Holy Quran Museum, located in the Hira Cultural District in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, continues to play a prominent role in preserving and displaying rare copies of the Holy Quran.

The museum stands as an important cultural landmark, reflecting the revered status of the Quran in Islamic civilisation and documenting the care devoted to it across different historical periods, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Monday.

Through its collections, the museum highlights the significance of Quranic endowments, a key feature of Islamic heritage that helped protect Quranic manuscripts, promote their dissemination, support their recitation, and ensure their availability in mosques and centers of learning.

Among its manuscripts is a copy of the Holy Quran printed on 30 pages, donated by Prince Abdulaziz bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz.

The endowment reflects a deep reverence for the Holy Quran and underscores the enduring tradition of charitable contributions dedicated to its preservation and service.

The exhibition of such manuscripts aligns with the museum’s mission to introduce visitors to the history of the Holy Quran, showcase the efforts of individuals and institutions involved in its care, and create awareness of the cultural and humanitarian importance of Quranic endowments.

Overall, the museum offers a rich cultural and educational experience, connecting visitors to the history and stature of the Holy Quran, beginning in Makkah—the birthplace of revelation and the direction of prayer for Muslims worldwide.
