PESHAWAR: Who will form the government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan is the talk of the town, wherein the PTI backed independent candidates are grouping up to find out a way to complete the required numbers for a government.
A total of 73 MPAs are needed in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly to form the government in the province; however, independent candidates have collected 90 out of 113 seats in the province, with 89 out of 91 seats being for independent candidates backed by PTI.
According to APP, Mushtaq Ghani is a strong candidate for speaker KP assembly, while the names of Atif Khan and Ali Amin Gandapur are also being discussed as strong candidates for Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

It may be recalled that the independent candidates are bound to join a political party within three days after the issuance of Form 49. After three days, the independent candidate will be declared an independent member for the next five years.
Legal experts said that the independent candidates’ independent candidates will lose 30 reserved seats, out of which 26 are reserved for women and four for minorities in the case of forming their own government.
According to the provincial results of the ECP, independent candidates won 90, JUI-F 7, PML-N 5, PPPP 4, JI, 3, PTI-P 2, and ANP 1 in the country’s general elections that held on February 8.
