BUSHEHR, Iran: Iran has reported a fresh strike in the vicinity of its Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, marking the third such incident in just over a week, according to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Despite the repeated security concerns, officials confirmed that the facility’s reactor remains fully operational and unaffected, according to Reuters.
In a statement released on Saturday, the IAEA said Iranian authorities had informed the agency that there was no damage to the plant’s operating reactor following the latest incident.

Crucially, no radiation leakage was detected, and safety systems at the facility continue to function normally.
The agency added that Iran described the overall condition of the plant as stable, with no immediate risks posed to the surrounding population or environment.
The Bushehr facility, located along Iran’s southern coast, is the country’s only operational nuclear power plant and plays a key role in its civilian energy program.
While details about the nature and origin of the strike were not disclosed, the repeated incidents have raised concerns among international observers about the safety and security of nuclear infrastructure in conflict-prone regions.
The IAEA, which monitors nuclear facilities worldwide to ensure compliance with safety and non-proliferation standards, continues to stay in close contact with Iranian officials.
Experts warn that even when reactors remain intact, repeated strikes near nuclear sites increase the risk of unintended consequences, including damage to auxiliary systems or disruptions to plant operations.
