MIRPUR, Bangladesh: In a heartwarming move to bring the next generation closer to the game’s purest format, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced free stadium entry for students and cricket academy trainees during the upcoming home Test series against Pakistan.

The initiative, running from May 8 to 20, is designed not only to fill the stands but to inspire young cricket enthusiasts by letting them witness the thrill of red-ball cricket live from the galleries.

BCB confirmed the decision on Tuesday, describing it as a ‘special opportunity’ to encourage young fans to experience Test cricket from the stands.

According to the board’s statement, students from schools and other educational institutions will be granted free access to designated stands and galleries, provided they wear their respective uniforms and carry valid identification cards.

“This privilege also applies to trainees under the age of 15 who are enrolled in private cricket academies,” the BCB added. These young aspiring cricketers must wear their official academy kits to receive complimentary entry.

The two-match Test series is part of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27. The opening fixture will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur from May 8 to 12, while the second red-ball game will take place in Sylhet from May 16 to 20.

By removing financial barriers, the BCB hopes to cultivate a new generation of passionate cricket lovers and future stars.
