KARACHI: Sindh Government officials said that the Karachi police office, which came under attack on Friday evening by terrorists, has been cleared. Officials said that three terrorists have been killed during the operation. Sindh Government spokesman confirmed that Karachi Police Office has been cleared and three terrorists have been killed.
Earlier, Police officials said that two terrorists were killed when armed men attacked the office of the Karachi police chief at Sharea Faisal, Karachi, on Friday evening.
Unknown armed men have attacked the office of the Karachi police chief at Sharea Faisal, Karachi with an operation is underway, officials said on Friday.
An official told the media initial estimates suggest that there are about the “terrorists”. Police also confirmed that the police chief’s office had come under attack in the city.
SHO Khalid Hussain Memon told the media that unknown men attacked Saddar police station in Karachi close to the city police office. The statement added that firing was taking place in the area.
Reports said that additional contingents of police and Rangers have rushed to the site.
According to the Rangers spokesman the Quick Response Force (QRF) have also reached the site and cordoned off the area. The spokesman said that Rangers and police are conducing the operation against the terrorists.
South DIG Irfan Baloch told a private TV that that firing was taking place but said that the situation would be brought in control.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah took notice of the situation and ordered the relevant officials to send security personnel from their zones. He said that attack on the police chief’s office was unacceptable.
He sought a report from the officer concerned and added that he was monitoring the situation and directed Rangers to arrive at the site.
