ISLAMABAD: China Meteorological Administration said on Thursday that China will launch the Fengyun 3F and Fengyun 3G weather satellites this year.
The Fengyun 3F is likely to be take off in August. It will do imaging observations of the Earth’s surface, which are mainly used for environmental research, weather forecasting, and disaster monitoring.
The Fengyun 3G is scheduled to be launched in April and will assist in monitoring of heavy precipitation in severe weather systems.
China’s satellites
China has so far launched nineteen Fengyun meteorological satellites, 7 of which are currently roaming in orbit. They provide data and services to 126 states and regions around the world.
