RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi hosted a dinner for the national men’s cricket team on Thursday, as Pakistan prepare to open their three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Friday.

Naqvi met the players and team management during the gathering and wished the squad success ahead of the series, which will be the first T20I assignment for newly appointed captain Sahibzada Farhan.

The second and third T20Is will also be played in Rawalpindi on October 11 and 13.

Meanwhile, the commentary panel for the series has been confirmed, featuring former Pakistan players Aamir Sohail, Bazid Khan and Salman Butt, former Pakistan women’s captain Urooj Mumtaz and Sri Lankan commentator Roshan Abeysinghe.

Zainab Abbas will serve as the presenter throughout the three-match series.
Pakistan will enter the series with a mix of experienced players and emerging talent under head coach Mike Hesson, while Sri Lanka will be led by Kusal Mendis.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka have met 31 times in T20Is, with Pakistan winning 18 matches and Sri Lanka 13.
The T20I series will be followed by an ODI tri-series involving Pakistan, Sri Lanka and England from October 18 to 31, before Sri Lanka return for a two-Test series against Pakistan as part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27.
