RAWALPINDI: The trophy for Pakistan’s upcoming three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka was unveiled on Thursday, setting the stage for the opening encounter between the two sides at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Friday.

The trophy features a polished golden sphere mounted on an elongated structure, flanked by green and blue panels carrying the national emblems of Pakistan and Sri Lanka. It has been displayed on a red pedestal against a mountainous backdrop.

All three T20Is to be played in Rawalpindi

The opening match will be followed by the second T20I on October 11 and the third on October 13, with both matches also scheduled at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Pakistan will be led by Sahibzada Farhan, while Kusal Mendis will captain Sri Lanka in the series.

Pakistan hold the historical advantage in T20I meetings between the two teams. The sides have played 31 T20Is, with Pakistan winning 18 and Sri Lanka 13.

The series also marks Sri Lanka’s first bilateral short-format tour of Pakistan since 2019. During that visit, Sri Lanka secured a 3-0 T20I series sweep in Lahore.

ODI tri-series and tests to follow

The T20I series will be followed by an ODI tri-series involving Pakistan, Sri Lanka and England, scheduled to take place in Rawalpindi and Lahore from October 18 to 31.

Sri Lanka will then play a three-day warm-up match in Islamabad from November 4 to 6 before facing Pakistan in a two-Test series.

The Tests will be part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27. The first Test will be played at Rawalpindi from November 9 to 13, while the second is scheduled at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium from November 17 to 21.
