RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Sri Lanka’s cricket team has started preparations for their upcoming T20I series against Pakistan, with the visiting players taking part in their first training session at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
The Sri Lankan team shared glimpses of their practice session on social media, showing players working in the nets and preparing for the three-match T20I contest against Pakistan.

The visitors focused on batting, bowling and fielding drills as they adjusted to the conditions ahead of the opening match of the series.
Prepare for Pakistan challenge
The training session marked the beginning of Sri Lanka’s on-ground preparations after their arrival in Pakistan.
The Sri Lankan squad, led by T20I captain Kusal Mendis, includes several experienced players such as Dasun Shanaka, Maheesh Theekshana and Dunith Wellalage.
The team management is expected to use the practice sessions to assess conditions at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium and finalise their plans for the opening encounter.
Series begins Friday
Pakistan and Sri Lanka will face each other in a three-match T20I series, with all matches scheduled to be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
The opening T20I will take place on Friday, followed by the second match on October 11 and the final game on October 13.
Pakistan hold the advantage in their T20I head-to-head record against Sri Lanka, winning 18 of their 31 meetings, while Sri Lanka have recorded 13 victories.
Both teams will look to build momentum ahead of a busy international schedule, with Pakistan also set to feature in an ODI tri-series involving Sri Lanka and England after the T20I contest.
