RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has reaffirmed its longstanding commitment to humanitarian aid, with contributions exceeding $145 billion through 8,997 projects across 175 countries, providing vital assistance to people affected by crises and reaching those most vulnerable around the world.

Through this approach, the Kingdom continues to rank among the world’s largest donors, demonstrating that humanitarian action in Saudi Arabia is not a temporary response, but an established value whose impact has reached every continent, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Wednesday.

This presence reflects the support and attention given to humanitarian and relief efforts by the wise leadership, thereby boosting the Kingdom’s position in the international humanitarian landscape.

Saudi Arabia ranks second globally in humanitarian aid

The Kingdom ranked second globally and first among Arab countries in humanitarian and relief aid donations in 2025, according to the United Nations Financial Tracking Service (FTS).

It also ranked first among donors of humanitarian assistance to Yemen, accounting for 49.3% of total aid provided to the country.

This achievement adds to a long record of giving that has made the Kingdom an active partner in responding to crises and alleviating the suffering of those affected.

KSrelief leads Saudi Arabia’s international relief efforts

As an extension of this approach, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) was established on May 13, 2015, under the direction of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The centre is a leading humanitarian institution dedicated to providing assistance to those in need and to people affected by disasters worldwide.

Since its establishment, the center has implemented 4,425 projects in 113 countries at a cost exceeding $8 billion, benefiting tens of millions of the world’s most vulnerable people without discrimination.

Yemen receives billions in Saudi humanitarian assistance

Yemen is among the foremost countries to have benefited from this assistance, with KSrelief implementing 1,219 humanitarian and relief projects there worth more than $4.785 billion.

Saudi aid reaches Gaza through food, medical and shelter support

In Gaza, KSrelief has operated an integrated central kitchen producing 24,000 hot meals daily for displaced and affected families.

It has also launched numerous educational and development projects and operated an air bridge and a sea bridge, through which 84 aircraft and eight ships have so far delivered more than 7,750 tons of food, medical, and shelter supplies.

KSrelief expands humanitarian projects across Syria, Pakistan and Sudan

In Syria, KSrelief carried out 523 projects worth more than $584 million. In Pakistan, it delivered 353 projects worth over $228 million, while in Sudan, it undertook 279 projects worth over $192 million.

In Lebanon, the center completed 73 projects worth more than $92 million. These projects covered various essential relief sectors.

From aid delivered to crisis areas, to life-saving medical programmes, and volunteers who bring their expertise to those in need, Saudi humanitarian action has established a model in which people and their dignity remain a constant focus of its giving.
