LAHORE: Pakistan on Sunday announced 15-member squads for the DP World Women’s Asia Cup 2026 and the 20th Asian Games, with regular captain Fatima Sana returning to lead the side in both tournaments after missing the recent T20I series against Sri Lanka due to her commitments with Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred.

The all-rounder’s comeback bolsters the national team as they prepare for a busy schedule across Dubai and Japan, with the PCB also confirming a pre-tournament training camp at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore from 16 to 25 August.
Asia Cup campaign begins September 1
The eight-team DP World Women’s Asia Cup will be held from 28 August to 13 September at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, with all 15 matches scheduled to begin at 7.30pm PKT.
Pakistan are placed in Group A alongside Hong Kong, China, India and Thailand, while Group B comprises Bangladesh, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates.

The semi-finals are scheduled for 10 and 11 September, while the final will be played on 13 September.
Asian Games Campaign in Japan
For the 20th Asian Games women’s cricket event at Korogi Athletic Park in Aichi, Pakistan are seeded alongside Thailand and will face them in the fourth quarter-final on 17 September.

- Bangladesh vs China
- Sri Lanka vs Malaysia
- Pakistan vs Thailand
If Pakistan qualify for the semi-finals, they will face either Sri Lanka or Malaysia on 20 September. The bronze-medal and gold-medal matches are scheduled for 22 September.
Pakistan have a strong history at the Asian Games, having won gold medals in the women’s cricket events at the 2010 and 2014 editions, while they finished fourth at the most recent edition in 2022.

Squad Composition
Apart from captain Fatima Sana, Muneeba Ali Siddiqui, Shawaal Zulfiqar, Ayesha Zafar, Gull Feroza, Saira Jabeen, Eyman Fatima, Eman Naseer, Umm-e-Hani, Tuba Hassan, Nashra Sundhu and Momina Riasat have been named in both squads.
Najiha Alvi, Waheeda Akhtar and Sadia Iqbal are part of the Asia Cup squad, while Aliya Riaz, Tasmia Rubab and Humna Bilal will join the Asian Games squad when the team travels from the UAE to Japan. The Asian Games squad was submitted in June this year.

Training camp and preparation
The Pakistan women’s team will hold a pre-tournament training camp from Sunday, 16 August, to Tuesday, 25 August, at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore, providing crucial preparation ahead of their challenging campaigns in both tournaments.
Fatima Sana took over as Pakistan Women’s T20I captain in 2024 and has led the team in 23 WT20Is, securing eight victories. Her return from The Hundred, where she became the first Pakistani woman to feature in the tournament, adds valuable experience to the side as they aim for success on the continental stage.
