RIYADH: The Emergency Response Project for Combating Cholera in Yemen, supported by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), provided medical services to 34,203 beneficiaries in April 2026.
The services included comprehensive cholera screening and monitoring activities, which resulted in the identification of six suspected cholera cases and enabled prompt medical assessment and response measures, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Monday.
The project targets areas most affected by the outbreak, aiming to reduce infection rates and limit the spread of cholera through preventive interventions, including the deployment of specialised medical teams to screen and monitor travellers at air and land entry points.
These efforts reflect the Kingdom’s continued humanitarian commitment, implemented through KSrelief, to support Yemen’s healthcare sector and help curb the spread of infectious diseases.
