ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s diplomatic missions across the globe observed the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq (The Battle of Truth), paying rich tributes to the unmatched valour, professional excellence, and sacrifices of the Pakistan armed forces.

Pakistan’s diplomatic missions across the globe, including the Permanent Mission to the United Nations and the Consulate General in New York, jointly observed the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq.

Under the theme “Commemorating Pakistan’s Victory, Resilience, Resolve and Pursuit of Peace,” the New York event was attended by a large number of members of the Pakistani and Kashmiri diaspora, community leaders, academics, and civil society representatives.

Consul General Aamer Ahmed Atozai stated that Marka-e-Haq represented a defining moment in Pakistan’s history, demonstrating the nation’s unity, resilience, and unwavering commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty.

He paid tribute to the martyrs and ghazis, adding that Pakistan remains committed to peace, dialogue, and regional stability while being fully capable of defending its national interests against any aggression.

Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, said that Marka-e-Haq demonstrated Pakistan’s maturity, restraint, and firm commitment to safeguarding peace with dignity.

He underscored Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace, multilateralism, and international law, while appreciating the strong support of the Pakistani-American and Kashmiri diaspora in promoting Pakistan’s perspective abroad.

Speakers, including Senator Rana Mahmood-ul-Hassan, Dr. Gholam Mujtaba, Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai, and others reiterated Pakistan’s principled position on Jammu and Kashmir. They stressed that lasting peace in South Asia remains linked to the peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute in line with UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

Separately, similar commemorations were held in key capitals, including Washington, London, Moscow, Ankara, and Baghdad.

In Washington, Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh recalled how Pakistani forces, civil-military leadership, and the entire nation left an indelible mark on the country’s integrity.

In London, Acting High Commissioner Haseeb bin Aziz described the armed forces as an “iron shield” in defense of the sacred land.

Ceremonies in Russia, Belgium, Türkiye, Serbia, Sri Lanka, Spain, and other nations featured screenings of documentaries, special prayers for martyrs, and emotional speeches from the Pakistani diaspora.

The special message of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar was read out at all ceremonies, renewing the nation’s pledge to uphold truth, justice, and unity under one flag. The events concluded with prayers for the progress, prosperity, and security of Pakistan.
