ISLAMABAD: The banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), designated by Pakistan as Fitna al-Khawarij, has released a video showing Afghan nationals killed while fighting Pakistan’s security forces in Bajaur district of northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, confirming Afghan nationals’ participation in terrorist attacks inside Pakistan.
The video contains photographs of TTP-linked Afghan terrorists killed during Pakistani security forces’ counterterrorism operation in Bajaur in February 2026.
The banned TTP terrorist group’s video is a formal acknowledgement that Afghan nationals remained involved in terrorist attacks against Pakistan, security analysts said. The footage also contradicted and rejected the Afghan Taliban regime’s position that Afghan nationals were not involved in terrorist activities in Pakistan, security analysts said.

The February 16 attack in Bajaur was one of the major terrorist attacks in Pakistan this year. A vehicle-borne suicide bomber targeted a security post, followed by an assault by armed terrorists.
After the attack, Pakistan identified the suicide bomber as Ahmad, alias Qari Abdullah Abu Zar, a resident of Afghanistan’s Balkh province. Pakistani officials said the attack was carried out by Fitna al-Khawarij, which is based in Afghanistan and is receiving support from the Taliban regime.
Later, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry summoned an Afghan diplomat over the terrorist attack and delivered a “strong demarche” to the Taliban regime over the February 16 attack in Bajaur district.
Pakistan also conveyed its “serious concern” that the banned TTP terrorist group and its entire leadership are based in Afghanistan and operate with impunity from Afghan soil.
Pakistan asked the Taliban regime to take “immediate, concrete and verifiable measures” against terrorist groups operating from Afghan soil.
The Bajaur attack followed several other terrorist attacks which were linked to terrorist groups based in Afghanistan.
A suicide bomber involved in the February 6 attack on a mosque in Islamabad had received training in Afghanistan, Pakistani officials said. “Verified information indicates that the suicide bomber received training for terrorist activities in Afghanistan,” senior officials said.
Afghan nationals were involved in suicide bombing outside the Islamabad Judicial Complex in October 2025. Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that two Afghan nationals were involved in the two suicide attacks in the country.
“Investigators have uncovered and identified the main perpetrators of the Islamabad attack. The suicide bomber was an Afghan national,” Naqvi told parliament.
“Another suicide bomber who carried out the attack on Cadet College Wana was also an Afghan national,” the minister said.
Pakistani authorities have also confirmed that all three suicide attackers who stormed the Frontier Constabulary (FC) headquarters in Peshawar on November 24, 2025, were Afghan nationals.
Pakistan has repeatedly demanded of the Afghan Taliban regime to take concrete measures to prevent Afghan territory from being used by terrorist groups for attacks against Pakistan. However, the Taliban regime failed to take any action against the terrorist groups based in Afghanistan, despite international concerns.
