ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, has highlighted that the navy is providing security to the maritime community through its presence in the Gulf of Oman.
He was chairing the Command and Staff Conference of Pakistan Navy at Naval Headquarters, Islamabad, according to a statement issued by the military’s media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday.
The Chief of the Naval Staff stressed the importance of maintaining continuous combat readiness to address both traditional and non-traditional challenges in the maritime domain.

Referring to the ongoing situation in the Middle East, he highlighted emerging maritime threats, including risks to freedom of navigation, possible disruptions to vital Sea Lines of Communication (SLOCs), and a volatile security environment across key strategic chokepoints.
“Admiral Naveed Ashraf stressed on acquiring niche and cutting-edge technologies as an absolute strategic necessity for Pakistan Navy,” the ISPR statement said.
The Naval Chief further underscored Pakistan Navy’s pivotal role in ensuring peace, stability, and regional maritime security.
He highlighted that the Pakistan Navy is providing assurance to the maritime community through its presence in the Gulf of Oman.
The forum also commemorated the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, paying tribute to the sacrifices made during the May 2025 conflict.
The Naval Chief remarked on the historic triumph as an enduring testament to national unity and unwavering resolve to defeat any external aggression with an iron fist.
The forum undertook a comprehensive review of the operational preparedness, ongoing initiatives, and upcoming events. Discussions remained focused on aligning naval priorities with evolving regional maritime security imperatives to chart a clear course for operational preparedness across multiple domains of naval warfare.
The Command and Staff Conference is the apex decision-making forum of Pakistan Navy, where the Chief of the Naval Staff, Principal Staff Officers, and Field Commanders deliberate on strategic priorities and policies, ISPR said.
