LOS ANGELES: American pop star Ariana Grande has added another milestone to her career, becoming the world’s most-listened-to artist on Spotify during the Christmas holiday season.
The 7 Rings singer and Wicked star surpassed The Weeknd to claim the top spot, reaching a career-high 123.82 million monthly listeners on the streaming platform in December. With this achievement, Grande has become the first female artist to lead Spotify’s monthly listeners chart five separate times, a record no other woman has achieved more than twice.
She is currently followed by Justin Bieber with 120.9 million monthly listeners, while The Weeknd stands close behind with 120.26 million.
Fans quickly took to social media to celebrate the achievement, praising Grande’s vocal talent, consistency, and lasting influence in the music industry. Many highlighted her longevity and ability to remain relevant across multiple eras.
The surge in listeners was driven by strong streaming numbers from tracks such as Santa Tell Me, songs from the Wicked: For Good soundtrack, and We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love).
Following this record-breaking success, Grande is preparing for The Eternal Sunshine Tour in summer 2026, marking her first major concert tour in six years.
