ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday strongly condemned the terrorist attack carried out at Islamabad’s district courts by terrorists linked with “India-backed” terrorist groups based in Afghanistan.
The Prime Minister prayed for the elevation of the ranks of those martyred in the attack and offered heartfelt condolences to their families, saying that the entire nation stands with the bereaved families in this hour of grief.
He also prayed for the swift recovery of the injured and directed authorities to provide them with the best possible medical treatment.
Terming the attack “highly condemnable,” the Prime Minister said that India-backed terrorist proxies targeting innocent Pakistani citizens is a matter of serious concern.
He ordered a thorough investigation into the incident and vowed that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.
The Prime Minister noted that Indian-sponsored militants operating from Afghan soil had also attacked innocent children in Wana. “No amount of condemnation is enough for these heinous attacks launched from Afghan territory with Indian backing,” he stated.
Reaffirming the government’s unwavering resolve, he said the sacrifices of innocent Pakistanis will not go in vain.
“Our fight against terrorism will continue until the last terrorist linked with Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij is eliminated,” he said, adding that such cowardly acts cannot deter Pakistan’s determination to eradicate terrorism.
The Prime Minister urged India to immediately cease its “malicious actions” of using proxies to destabilise the region and called on the international community to condemn New Delhi’s “nefarious designs.”
He said India’s “heinous face of state-sponsored terrorism” in the region now stands fully exposed before the world.
“Both attacks are clear examples of India’s worst forms of state terrorism in the region,” the Prime Minister concluded.
