DUBAI: Pakistan wicketkeeper Sidra Nawaz was named in the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Women’s World Cup 2025 Team of the Tournament, the ICC said on Tuesday.

The selection makes her the only player from a team that exited in the league phase to feature in the all-star XI.

The ICC said Sidra finished the tournament with the most dismissals. She completed four stumpings, two of which came in Pakistan’s match against Australia.

The ICC described one stumping off fast bowler Diana Baig, dismissing Kim Garth, as among the best of the tournament.

Sidra’s glovework was singled out for helping Pakistan’s bowlers throughout the competition.

Hosts India, who beat South Africa by 52 runs in the final, have three players in the XI.

Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma were all selected, the ICC said.

Deepti Sharma was named Player of the Tournament. The ICC highlighted her rare double of 200-plus runs and more than 15 wickets in the event.

Mandhana finished as the second-highest run-scorer. Jemimah’s unbeaten 127 in the semi-final against Australia was cited as a key performance.

South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt was named captain of the Team of the Tournament after a record World Cup haul of 571 runs at an average of 71.37, the ICC said.

Wolvaardt’s total set a new mark for the most runs in a single Women’s World Cup edition.

Marizanne Kapp and Nadine de Klerk also made the XI for South Africa.

Australia — semi-finalists — are represented by Annabel Sutherland, Ash Gardner and leg-spinner Alana King.

England’s Sophie Ecclestone was included for her consistent bowling. Nat Sciver-Brunt was named 12th player for the tournament side.
