ABBOTTABAD: Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, on Saturday cautioned India that there was “no space for war in a nuclearised environment,” reiterating Islamabad’s call for restraint and dialogue between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.
Addressing a passing-out parade at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) in Kakul, Munir said, “I advise and firmly caution the Indian military leadership that there is, ‘No Space for War’ in a nuclearized environment. Settle the core issues with Pakistan as per the international norms, on the basis of equality and mutual respect.”
He urged New Delhi to address long-standing disputes through international norms and peaceful means, while underscoring Pakistan’s readiness to defend itself. “We will never be intimidated nor coerced by your rhetoric and shall respond decisively beyond proportions to even a minor provocation without any qualms. The onus of ensuing escalation, one that may ultimately bear catastrophic consequences for the entire region and beyond, will squarely lie with India.”
The passing out parade of cadets from the 152nd PMA Long Course, 71st Integrated Course, 26th Lady Cadet Course, and 37th Technical Graduate Course was held at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul on Saturday.
Cadets from several friendly countries, including Iraq, Palestine, Qatar, Mali, Nepal, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Yemen, Bangladesh, and Nigeria, also graduated from Pakistan Military Academy. Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) graced the occasion as the chief guest.

Munir’s remarks come amid renewed regional tensions and reflect Pakistan’s consistent stance that strategic stability in South Asia depends on responsible behaviour and respect for established diplomatic frameworks.
“Having failed in its prejudice against Pakistan’s in operation Marka-Haq, India continues with state-sponsored terrorism as a preferred policy, he said.
Pakistan as a “Net Regional Stabilizer” and Expanding Ties with Muslim Nations
Field Marshal Asim Munir said the world was witnessing “increased fragility and volatility,” with a visible shift toward the use of violence to achieve political goals. “Amidst the chaos, Pakistan has successfully emerged as a net regional stabilizer. Our relations with key global and regional powers — particularly Muslim countries — have further strengthened,” he said.
He emphasized that Pakistan had consistently proven itself a key contributor to regional and global peace, noting the armed forces’ “immense contribution” to United Nations peacekeeping missions worldwide.
Highlighting Pakistan’s expanding defense ties, the army chief described the recent Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a “reinforcement and formalization of Pakistan–Saudi brotherhood” and a vital step toward ensuring peace and stability in the Middle East and South Asia.
“For the people and armed forces of Pakistan, it is a moment of unique pride to reaffirm our faithful commitment to the defense of Harmain Sharifain, as eternalized by the sublime words of Allama Iqbal,” he added.
Message to Kabul: Curb Militants Using Afghan Soil

Turning to Afghanistan, Munir urged the Taliban regime to “choose mutual security over perpetual violence” and take immediate action against groups launching cross-border attacks.
“The Taliban regime must rein in the proxies who have sanctuaries in Afghanistan and are using Afghan soil to perpetrate heinous attacks inside Pakistan,” he said. Munir warned that Pakistan’s law enforcement agencies and armed forces — supported by the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan — “will surely defeat this menace as well.” He added, “Like our victory in the conventional domain, every state proxy of our neighbour will be razed to dust, Inshallah.”
“Having failed in its belligerence against Pakistan in Operation Maarqa-e-Haq, India continues with state sponsored terrorism as a preferred policy,” he said and added, “Our adversary’s use of Fitna al-Hind and Fitna-al- Khawarij as hired guns, exposes its cowering, hypocritical, and heinous face to the world. Equally disconcerting is the use of Afghan soil for terrorism in Pakistan.
Strengthening National Resolve
The Field Marshal said Pakistan had also played a constructive role in facilitating peaceful dialogue with Iran, reflecting its commitment to regional stability. “Our relations with all other Muslim countries are thriving at an exponential pace,” he noted, adding that Pakistan remains “proud of its historic and all-weather strategic cooperative partnership with China.”
He described the renewed momentum in Pakistan–US relations as “an encouraging and welcome development,” praising “President Trump’s personal efforts and strategic leadership to bring peace to multiple conflict-prone areas of the world.”
“We will continue to strengthen and nurture our ties with key global and regional partners in the interest of peace, security, and development,” the army chief said.
Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed that Pakistan’s armed forces remain a central pillar of national unity and defense. “Ever since the creation of Pakistan, the armed forces, with full support of the nation, have defended the external and internal frontiers of the country with unfailing resolve, conviction and pride,” he said. The army chief added that the resolve demonstrated by Pakistan’s military has “strengthened the trust and confidence of the people” in its capabilities and commitment to safeguard sovereignty.
