ISLAMABAD: Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed made a major leap in the ICC Men’s T20I Bowling Rankings, jumping eight spots to claim 4th position, his career-best, following standout performances in the Asia Cup 2025.
The 25-year-old leg-spinner impressed during the group stage, especially against the UAE, where he picked up 2 for 13, and later bounced back from a tough outing against India (1/42) with an economical 1 for 8 in Pakistan’s crucial win over Sri Lanka. That match, which Pakistan won by five wickets, revived their hopes of reaching the final.
Meanwhile, Shaheen Shah Afridi also saw upward movement, climbing two places to 25th, while Haris Rauf made the biggest gain among Pakistan bowlers—up nine places to 28th. However, Mohammad Nawaz and Sufiyan Muqeem slipped to 46th and 14th, respectively.
