Preparation and schedule
After departing from Lahore on Wednesday morning, the squad arrived in Dubai in the afternoon and has been granted a rest day to recover from travel fatigue. The team will hold its first training session on Thursday, while captain Fatima Sana will also attend the official trophy-unveiling ceremony, marking the formal start of the tournament build-up.
This year’s Asia Cup will feature eight teams divided into two groups of four. Group A pits Pakistan against traditional rivals India, alongside Thailand and Hong Kong, China. Group B comprises defending champions Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Indonesia, and the host nation UAE.
The tournament will get underway on August 28, with Thailand facing Hong Kong, China, in the opening match. All 15 matches, including the final scheduled for September 13, will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Key Fixtures and Campaign
Pakistan will kick off their campaign on September 1 against Thailand, before facing their fiercest rivals India on September 5 in what promises to be a blockbuster encounter. Their final group-stage fixture is scheduled for September 7 against Hong Kong, China.
As per the tournament format, the top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, scheduled for September 10 and 11, with the final to follow on September 13.
