ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is mourning the sudden death of child television star Umar Shah, whose innocent smile and playful personality made him a favorite on popular morning and entertainment shows.
Shah, who appeared in Jeeto Pakistan and Shan-i-Ramazan alongside his elder brothers Ahmed and Abu Bakar, passed away this weekend after a sudden health complication. According to his uncle and mentor Daniyal Shah, Umar began vomiting, causing fluid to enter his lungs. He was rushed to the hospital but could not survive.
The news was confirmed by Ahmed via Instagram on Monday, requesting prayers for Umer and their grieving family.

Deep sorrow
Renowned figures from Pakistan’s entertainment world have expressed deep sorrow over his passing.
Waseem Badami, who often hosted Umar and his brother on his Shan-i-Ramazan show, said he had been in touch with doctors who told him Umar died in the early hours of Monday from cardiovascular arrest.
Actor and host Fahad Mustafa said he was “speechless” over the loss. Waseem Badami, a journalist and frequent host of the Shah brothers, shared that doctors confirmed Umer died early Monday morning due to cardiac arrest.

Tributes highlighted Umer’s joyful spirit and endearing personality. Actor Adnan Siddiqui called him “a beam of light, joy, and innocence,” while Aijaz Aslam described him as “a bright, kind soul” who brought joy to everyone around him. Celebrities, including Mahira Khan, Shaista Lodhi, Hina Altaf, and Momal Sheikh, also mourned his sudden death.
