ABU DHABI: Reem bint Ebrahim Al-Hashimy, the UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation, summoned the deputy ambassador of Israel to the UAE, David Ahad Horsandi, on Friday to condemn Israel’s recent attack on Qatar and statements made about the Gulf state.
The Minister conveyed the UAE’s “strong condemnation and denunciation of the blatant and cowardly Israeli attack that targeted the sisterly State of Qatar, as well as the aggressive statements made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,” according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
Israel’s raid on Tuesday resulted in the deaths of at least six individuals, including a 22-year-old Qatari security guard, marking the first direct Israeli strike on a Gulf nation.
Israel claimed the operation targeted Hamas leaders based in Doha; however, the group confirmed that its negotiators survived the attack.
The United Nations Security Council has also issued a rare unanimous condemnation of Israel following its unprecedented air strike on Qatar’s capital Doha, marking the first time Israel has directly targeted a Gulf nation. All 15 council members – including the United States, Israel’s closest ally – backed a joint statement calling for immediate de-escalation and reaffirming Qatar’s sovereignty.

UAE Minister Al Hashimy strongly condemned the reckless aggression, describing it as a blatant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty, a serious breach of international law and the United Nations Charter, and an irresponsible escalation that endangers both regional and global peace and security.
She reaffirmed that Qatar’s security and stability are integral to that of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) as a whole, underscoring that any attack on a GCC member state amounts to an attack on the collective security of the Gulf region.
Al Hashimy further warned that the continued use of hostile and provocative rhetoric severely undermines the prospects for regional stability, driving the situation toward highly dangerous and unacceptable outcomes that cannot be ignored.
