The company says AI assistants work best when they help you think more clearly and keep conversations flowing smoothly. As Mistral puts it, chatbots are most effective when they “let you go deeper in your thinking, keep your conversation flowing, and maintain contextual continuity,” according to AI News.
One of the key new additions is Deep Research mode. While similar tools exist elsewhere, this one aims to stand out by acting like your personal research assistant.
Ask a complicated question and the tool breaks it down, finds reliable sources, and puts together a well-organised, referenced report. It is designed to feel like working with a very efficient colleague—ideal for tasks like exploring market trends or digging into scientific topics.
Mistral’s new voice model
Prefer speaking to typing? The new Vocal mode could be just what you need. It is powered by Mistral’s new voice model, Voxtral, and allows for smooth, natural conversations with little to no delay. Whether you are out walking, cooking, or taking notes during a meeting, you can simply talk to Le Chat and get answers instantly.
For tackling more complex questions, there is Think mode. This taps into Mistral’s reasoning model, Magistral, to deliver thoughtful, well-structured responses. Impressively, it handles multiple languages with ease—you could write a business pitch in Spanish, explore legal issues in Japanese, or even switch between languages mid-sentence, and it will not miss a beat.
Advanced image editing
To keep everything tidy, Le Chat now includes a Projects feature. This lets you group related chats, files, and notes into specific folders. Each project remembers your settings, making it easier to manage anything from organising a house move to planning a large-scale work assignment.

And for creative users, Le Chat now offers advanced image editing thanks to a partnership with Black Forest Labs. You can generate images and then tweak them with simple prompts like “remove this object” or “put me in London”.
