SAN FRANCISCO, United States: Artificial intelligence laboratory Anthropic has informed investors that quarterly revenue grew by 50 percent to $16.8 billion in the September quarter, driven by expanded commercial adoption of its Claude platform.
Details presented during a private investor meeting at the company’s San Francisco headquarters revealed that Anthropic achieved positive adjusted free cash flow and maintained an 11 percent operating margin over the past six months.
Revenue momentum outpaces market rivals
Anthropic’s annualised revenue reached $65 billion earlier this year, with internal projections pointing toward $100 billion by the end of 2026. The performance places the firm ahead of chief competitor OpenAI, which recently reported annualised revenue of $50 billion.

The financial results come as Anthropic prepares for an initial public offering scheduled for November, following US midterm elections. The company is targeting a valuation of $2 trillion, exceeding previous private valuation records set in public markets.
Long-term capital expenditure
Despite strong short-term operational margins, financial disclosures indicate significant ongoing expenditure required to build and train advanced foundational models.
Anthropic recorded an annual net loss of $42 billion last year as it continues capital deployments aimed at securing a share of what management estimates to be a $30 trillion addressable market for enterprise artificial intelligence.
