ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Murad Saeed was in Afghanistan and directing the affairs of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government from there.
“Murad Saeed’s current location is Afghanistan,” Sanaullah said on Wednesday, saying that the former federal minister was controlling the provincial government from across the border.
He further stated that Murad Saeed had played a role in the appointment of Sohail Afridi as KP chief minister, adding that the PTI founder was reportedly unaware of Afridi’s selection.
Sanaullah also held Afridi and Saeed responsible for the breakdown of negotiations between the government and the opposition party, saying that both had undermined efforts to resolve political differences through dialogue.
“The fundamental role in the failure of the negotiations was played by Sohail Afridi and the person sitting behind him, Murad Saeed,” he said.

The prime minister’s aide maintained that the government had engaged in negotiations in good faith and offered PTI everything it had demanded.
However, he regretted that Afridi and Saeed were not interested in resolving the dispute through talks with political representatives.
Separately, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said on Tuesday that the government had information about Murad Saeed and would disclose it.
