The Public Security Directorate claimed that forty-four protestors had been arrested for participating in the protest. It added that they were produced before the court. The security directorate added that two other police personnel were shot and injured in Al-Husseiniya.

Earlier, King Abdullah II warned on Friday that any armed action against the state would be dealt with iron hands. The Interior Minister of the Kingdom of Jordan also said that the perpetrators would be arrested and brought to justice immediately.

Protest demonstrations broke out this week when protestors blocked the roads and confronted security troops in some parts of the kingdom. The government has also proposed relief measures like financial aid for the most-affected families in the Kingdom.
